Welcome to the Detachment of Indiana
Welcome to the Home Page of the Sons of The American Legion's Detachment of Indiana.  We're one of the world's largest Detachments with more than 35,000 Sons belonging to 280 squadrons.

The Sons is a program made up of the male descendents of members of The American Legion and deceased veterans who would have been eligible to join The Legion.  Our primary responsibility is to assist with all of the wonderful programs run by The American Legion.  We are dedicated to serving veterans and their families, working on projects that benefit the communities in which we live and promoting programs that benefit the youth of this nation.  Each year Sons throughout Indiana volunteer tens of thousands of hours and donate hundreds of thousands of dollars to many good causes.  We help with flag education programs in schools, participate in patriotic events, conduct fundraising projects and work around our American Legion Post homes.  Along the way, we have an awful lot of fun!

We value the freedoms that were paid for by the military service of our forefathers and mothers.  We recognize their contributions to our nation's success and we want to do all that we can to insure those freedoms are passed on to our children and their children's children.
