Joseph Schultis is a proud and active 17 year member of Auburn Squadron 97, the Sons of The American Legion in Auburn, Indiana. Joe’s eligibility is through the service of his Father, Thomas Schultis, who served in the United States Army, during Korea, now deceased.
Joe is married to Kristen Schultis who is a Registered Nurse in the ICU at DeKalb Health in Auburn, Indiana. Joe is a very proud father of three. Devin, Madison and Natalie all of whom are proud members of the American Legion family. Joe and Kristen both have a very strong enthusiasm about their community. Joe works for Heidtman Steel, where he is the Continuous Improvement Coordinator. In his role, Joe leads teams to improving their processes. Joe is also a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (Process Improvement through the uses of Statistical Analysis).
Joe’s passion is with the Sons of The American Legion and his continued focus is to work the programs of The American Legion. Commander Schultis believes that the only way to improve our organization is through the education of and communication to our members. That is why his motto for this year is, “It’s All About the Blue”.
Commander Schultis’ project this year is American Legion Child Welfare Foundation, Commander Schultis would like to raise $2 per member this year as his goal this year. We need to invest in our future, and show the nation that we truly care about the children. Can you think of a better way?
