Services will be available for homeless veterans, near homeless veterans, and their families including health screenings, assistance with food, clothing and housing needs, and access to VA counselors and American Legion Department of Indiana Veterans Service Officers. WASHINGTON (Sept. 15, 2009) – The U.S. House of Representatives has passed a resolution designating September 16, 2009, as “The American Legion Day.” The measure, House Resolution 679, was sponsored by Rep. Debbie Halvorson, D-Ill., and passed this afternoon with wide bipartisan support.

20 May 2009At the 2009 Spring Conference DEC meeting, Third District Commander Darin Batten issued the challenge on behalf of his District to the other ten District Commanders to meet or exceed the Third’s contribution of $1500.00 towards items listed on the published IVH Wish List. There is still time to raise those funds and show just how much we as a Detachment can really do if we put our minds and hearts together! Good luck and we will see you at Convention!
